The Andalusia Centre of Innovation, Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) is a technological research centre. It is situated in the Technological Park of Andalusia in M?laga and was founded in March 2002 as a non-profit private foundation. CITIC represents 38 leading enterprises, active in the area of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Andalusia, covering the whole territory of Andalusia. The mission of CITIC is to stimulate and strengthen the processes of national and international innovation and technological development by embarking upon important projects in the ICT sector. The aim is the projection of the Research and Development (R&D) performed by CITIC on to the business area, through technology transfer. CITIC is reinforced in this position and strategy by its qualification as a Transfer Technology and Investigation Office (OTRI 205).
CITIC is active in the following areas of research: e-Health and Telemedicine, Communication Technologies, interactive Digital Terrestrial Television, Security Technologies and Open Source Software.
