In the Transport sector, Forus has been a provider for many years now to Finmeccanica Group, through hw/sw installation and maintenance of signalling equipments and traffic controllers for the Italian Railway Network, incorporating remote control of wayside signalling installations (both ACS and ACC equipments), automatic traffic control and rider information maintenance management, video-surveillance of public areas, and emergency management.
In the Industrial Automation and Environment sectors, the need for more efficient control of equipment such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), RFIDs, robots, process control equipment, temperature monitoring systems, barcode scanners, scales and mixing stations is increasing dramatically. Forus has developed various solutions in this field, and its technicians and installers provide support to public and private entities, such as ASIA (the Naples Public Authority for solid waste collection, transfer, recycling and disposal services), Ecoservice (producers of waste collection and disposal systems and vehicles, including multi-compartment containers and vehicles), Umicore (manufacturer of food products and beverages, based in Avellino), Consorzio Irriguo Fondovalle Grottaminarda (Authority for regional land accretion and reclamation, erosion control, water flow control, pits telecontrol systems). Forus has also provided a global service to ASIA Authority on various systems and components, produced and installed at ASIA premises in Naples, related to fuel distribution, vehicle monitoring and personnel identification. In the differentiated Waste Collection niche, Forus is presently providing systems to a number of Sicily Region local Governments.
In the Energy sector, Forus has developed solutions in PV (Photo Voltaic) and eolic plants. Forus also provides solutions in "extreme" environments, like underwater and underground sites, as well as forest fire monitoring.
Forus has developed SEAWARD, an advanced underwater monitoring system, and DEEPLY, an innovative re-breather to facilitate deep immersions also to inexperienced divers.
